Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici has expressed confidence in winning the gubernatorial seat without being in Deputy President William Ruto’s camp.

According to Ngirici, she is not in competition with incumbent Governor Anne Waiguru, who has given hints of joining William Ruto’s camp.

In a scenario whereby UDA chooses to have Anne Waiguru as its flagbearer for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat, Purity Ngirici is ready to leave since she is not “tethered to the party like a goat”.

The Woman representative expressed confidence in defeating Waiguru since she already has a hold of the ground.

“I know how the ground looks like since I am always with the people unlike the governor, who is still listening to what the ground is saying before she decides on her next move,” Purity Ngirichi said.

Her husband, Andrew Ngirici also expressed confidence that Purity will beat Anne Waiguru in the 2022 General Election.

“Wangui is my wife and as her greatest political supporter, we are not relenting until she becomes the third governor of this great county,” he said.

The declarations come after a disagreement between the Ngiricis and Anne Waiguru on Sunday, October 10.

Andrew Ngirici accused Waiguru of being a mastermind in the pulling down of a billboard that had Purity’s campaign poster.

He said Waiguru’s officials at the County government had given goons some money to destroy the billboards.

Ngirici argued that Waiguru can not match him in terms of wealth, assuring her that she will be out of office in 2022.

“I have seen county officials here giving youths KSh 10, that is not money. If they want money, I have more than the Central Bank of Kenya,

“I do not know what her (Anne Waiguru) problem is, her time in Kirinyaga is over, she doesn’t understand. She is going home,” he said.
