Aden Duale predicts when President Uhuru will dump Raila Odinga

by Enock Ndayala

Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale now says that President Uhuru will dump Raila Odinga before the 2022 presidential elections.

The former National Assembly Majority Leader said the Head of State has a very good legacy which he will not want it destroyed by his handshake partner Raila Odinga.

In an interview with a local TV station, Duale predicted that president Uhuru Kenyatta will from January 2022, indirectly dump Raila by ‘switching off his phone’ which essentially means not talking to the ODM leader.

“Unfortunately, they (ODM) will think that the handshake will give dividends that will take them to State House,

“I want to tell them categorically President Uhuru Kenyatta by January will put off his phone, he will manage his succession. President Uhuru has a very good legacy and I am sure he does not want to destroy it,” Duale said.

Duale who currently subscribes to the ideals of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party said that the first in command is only on Raila’s side because he has issues with his Jubilee party.

The vocal Tanga Tanga legislator said that President Kenyatta is using the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as an “alternate” where he finds solace.

Duale further stated that the president will continue working with ODM legislators until the 2022/2023 budget is passed.

He said the relationship between ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta will likely end the way Deputy President William Ruto’s relationship with his boss ended.

In March 2018, William Ruto was technically pushed out of the Jubilee government after the president shook hands with the opposition leader following the dramatic 2017 presidential election.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s close allies say their famous 2018 handshake will go a long way up to the 2022 general election and even beyond.

Uhuru and Raila are expected to finalize the Jubilee-ODM merger later this month when the ruling party will be holding its National Delegates Conference which is also expected to affect the ouster of William Ruto as Jubilee party deputy party leader.
