Aden Duale: President Uhuru will be embarrassed after August election

by Amos Khaemba
Aden Duale has claimed that President Uhuru will be embarrassed on August 9, over his decision to support the ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta will be embarrassed on August 9, over his decision to support the ODM leader Raila Odinga in the upcoming presidential election.

Speaking during a Kenya Kwanza meeting on Saturday, April 9 at a Karen hotel, Duale reminded President Uhuru of what happened to the former President the late Daniel Arap Moi 2002.

Duale was speaking at the event where Kenya Kwanza Alliance was signing a coalition agreement with National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi’s Democratic Party.

According to Duale, all key leaders who campaigned for President Uhuru during the 2013 and 2017 elections have joined Kenya Kwanza making it difficult for the ODM leader rail to win the August polls.

“It is interesting that the key leaders who worked with Uhuru Kenyatta are now part of Kenya Kwanza; The Deputy President William Ruto, Kithure Kindiki, Kipchumba Murkomen, and Aden Duale.

“This reminds me of 2002 when leaders late by George Saitotti walked out on mzee Moi, so you see where Kenya is heading, the President has been left by all his lieutenants and is now with his perennial and historical enemies,” Duale stated.

During the 2002 General Election, the then President Moi endorsed Uhuru Kenyatta as his preferred successor a move that made some key members of the government bolt out and team up with the eventual winner, Mwai Kibaki.

This time around, President Uhuru has settled on the ODM leader Raila Odinga as his preferred candidate leaving out his deputy in the upcoming elections.

Speaking in Sagana State Lodge two months ago, President Uhuru had said that he will only support DP Ruto in the future if he reforms even though he did not explain much about what he meant by his deputy reforming.
