Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has said he misses his old days with ex-wife Lilian Ng’ang’a with who they parted ways after close to a decade in marriage

Two months after parting ways, Alfred Mutua terms his failed relationship with Lilian as one that was built out of love and respect.

Speaking in an interview with the Standard Newspaper, Mutua said he cannot ignore his memories with the former air hostess as he remained with a part of her.

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has said he misses his old days with ex-wife Lilian Ng’ang’a.

“You miss people who come into your life. The people who are in your life, even for a month, two months, or 20 years, leave a part of them in you. It is natural for you to miss them. You have to be the devil incarnate for you not to miss them,” he said.

Alfred Mutua said that he cannot reveal the cause of their breakup publicly since it is a private issue.

However, the Machakos Governor gave a hint that their relationship did not end because of a big issue as many would think.

“It’s funny that people don’t understand that relationships can end without major issues,

“It is possible to tell your partner: ‘it’s been nice’, and she says the same too. That’s maturity… Maturity’s when you realise that you don’t own anybody,” he said.

Alfred Mutua also dismissed reports that he has been trying so hard to get close to Lilian since their split.

In the interview, Alfred Mutua also spoke about his relationship with activist Boniface Mwangi.

He denied having a beef with the activist, who had accused him of bombing his house in Machakos County.

“You know as a national leader you do not have problems with people. As a national leader, my job is to unite not to separate.

My job is to bring people together and move together with the same course so that we can be able to achieve what God wanted us to achieve,” he said.
