Political analyst Herman Manyora claims that Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and The Service Party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri are orchestrating a plot to destroy UDA party from within.
Speaking on his YouTube channel the political analyst said that the recent demand by Moses Kuria that UDA, a party heavily linked to deputy president William Ruto must enter into a pre-election deal with other parties for it to win the 2022 presidential elections is not honest.
Manyora said UDA is not a small party and equal to other smaller parties, especially those in Mt Kenya, which Moses Kuria wants it to form an alliance with.
“United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is William Ruto and William Ruto is United Democratic Alliance (UDA). So you can’t just argue the way Moses Kuria is arguing that UDA is one of the parties in hustler camp,” he said.
The analyst accused Kuria and Kiunjuri of forming what he called ‘briefcase parties’ to sabotage William Ruto’s party in Mt Kenya and reduce it to a political party confined in Rift Valley.
According to the University of Nairobi don, the two leaders are assembling excuses by trying to use their small parties to give William Ruto the demands he cannot meet.
“They are looking for the way out (of Tanga Tanga). They are trying to desert Ruto since they were never genuine from the start,
“You see people like Rigathi Gacagua so hurt because they know the games Moses Kuria and Mwangi Kiunjuri are playing but they cannot say it,’
“They (Moses Kuria and Mwangi Kiunjuri) came in with the intention to destroy UDA and they have started… even if William Ruto spoke to them now, nothing will change, Kuria and Kiunjuri have a brief which is to reduce UDA to a Kalenji party,” said Manyora.
Manyora went on to claim Moses Kuria and other Mt Kenya politicians allied to William Ruto agitating for creating of smaller parties in Central Kenya will eventually succeed in frustrating the deputy president in Mt Kenya and they will leave to join President Uhuru and Raila Odinga ahead of 2022 elections.
“The smaller parties will eventually become powerful and give William Ruto terms he cannot meet and they will eventually drift towards Raila Odinga, President Uhuru’s prefered successor,” he went on.
Two weeks ago, Moses Kuria said he is ready to lose everything but not joining William Ruto without having his own party.
“I have never deviated from my course and I am not just about to deviate. I am not stupid. I am not a mad person to insist on having my own party, there is something I know, and I do not want to share that publicly,” Moses Kuria said.
