Ann Waiguru praises President Uhuru’s development record

Governor Ann Waiguru has praised President Uhuru Kenyatta's government for initiating a lot of development projects across the country.

Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru has praised President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government for initiating a lot of development projects across the country.

Speaking on Monday, April 25, Waiguru hailed President Uhuru for his development agenda in terms of infrastructure and the Big Four Agenda.

“I think President Uhuru has worked and has done fairly well in terms of delivering on development and infrastructure. He has also done well in his big four agenda although he hasn’t completed it,” Waiguru stated.

The first-term governor claimed that President Uhuru’s concentration on his achieving fulfilling his legacy projects is what made him lose the support of the Mt Kenya region.

According to Waiguru Deputy President William Ruto took advantage of the president’s disconnect with the vote-rich region to align himself with the majority of the people.

“Kenyatta spent a lot of time focusing on his legacy and thus disconnected from the ground and by the time he realized this it was too late. At the same time, the DP was ever-present on the ground,” Waiguru stated.

In succession politics, Waiguru warned the ODM leader Raila Odinga that he might not win the hearts of Mt Kenya people if he relies on President Uhuru’s support.

According to Waiguru, the former premier should consider selling his agenda to the Mt Kenya region alone without the support of President Kenyatta.
Waiguru opined that Kenyans might reject Raila’s presidential bid on the pretext that he is an imposter.

“I am not seeing Raila having an impact in the Mt. Kenya region. If I was Raila, I would opt to run without the obvious support of the President to win. Having the President is a disadvantage on his side,” Waiguru said.
