Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru held a consultative meeting with her political team at a time she is seriously considering changing political camps from the Jubilee party.

The meeting held on Wednesday, September 15 comprised of a political team from her County who were also reviewing her development projects.

“Held a meeting with my political team from across Kirinyaga County. We reviewed our progress on matters politics, development, and socio-economic impact of my government’s projects in the county. I am listening to my people,” Governor Anne Waiguru wrote on her social media.

The Kirinyaga County boss is on record for saying that she will announce her next political move after listening to the people on the ground.

While saying this, Waiguru also gave hints that she might choose to join Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance camp.

The Governor has been on a mission to find a new political home and has held talks with principals in the One Kenya.

In May, Anne Waiguru held a meeting with Amani National Congress (ANC) Party leader Muasalia Mudavadi.

Months later, the party revealed that they are in the process of wooing Waiguru to join their camp.

“We know it is because of politics. We know that in Central it is very difficult to sell a certain political party and a certain individual, who is contesting for the presidency,

“As ANC, we are going to stand in solidarity with her and we are courting her to be one of our political kingpins in Central Kenya,” said ANC deputy Party leader Ayub Savula while defending Waiguru in a corruption case.

Days after the revelation from ANC, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka visited Anne Waiguru at her Kirinyaga home in a bid to win her support.

“I am ready to scale up the mountain. But I am also very cautious not to cause any friction and no wonder I am paying a courtesy call to the governor and engaging other local leaders,” Kalonzo said.
