Anne Waiguru: I explained to Uhuru why I am dumping him for Ruto

Governor Ann Waiguru has praised President Uhuru Kenyatta's government for initiating a lot of development projects across the country.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has said that he explained to President Uhuru Kenyatta why she had opted to decamp frrom his party Jubilee to United Democratic Alliance, heavily linked to d deputy William Ruto.

Speaking to TV 47 on Tuesday, January 18, Waiguru, a once-loyal supporter of the Jubilee party said she respects her former party leader and that she informed him of her decision to shift her allegiance to William Ruto’s camp.

“I explained why I had to make the political decision. The explanation was basically out of respect for him and not to ask for permission,” Waiguru said.

While heaping praises on President Uhuru Kenyatta as a master in politics, Waiguru said the first in command understands that people do make political decisions based on how the ground is speaking.

“President Uhuru is a mature politician. He has been in politics for many years and she understands that people do make political decisions based on their own lives,” Waiguru added.

Waiguru, who is seeking to retain her Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat on a UDA ticket in the upcoming General Election, maintained that she still enjoys a cordial relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta just like before.

On Tuesday, October 26, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru officially joined Deputy President William Ruto’s UDA party putting to an end to speculations on her political loyalty.

While welcoming her to Tanga Tanga political wing, the deputy president said her move to shift allegiance was reached after supporters wanted her to be associated with William Ruto.

“Our governor will today officially join UDA and end so many political questions people have been asking her,

“This is the party she will use to defend her seat because everyone on the ground told her they wanted to be associated with Ruto,” he said.
