Anne Waiguru joins Ruto’s campaign tour for first time since dumping Jubilee party

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru joined Ruto’s campaign for the first time on Thursday, November 18 since leaving President Uhuru’s camp.

During Deputy President William Ruto’s tour of the Embu region, Waiguru got a chance to address the rally in the presence of the defacto UDA Party leader.

She took to her social media to charge her fans with pro-Ruto slogans, saying that the Mt Kenya region is fully behind him.

“Joined Deputy President William Ruto alongside other UDA leaders during his Embu County tour yesterday. Watu wa Embu, volume iko tu sawa (the message is clear in Embu)

Mt Kenya region is Rutonated! Chama ni UDA, form ni hustler, na Mpango ni bottom up! (In Mt Kenya the party is UDA, the plan is hustler and bottom up),” Waiguru wrote on her social media.

Amid Ruto’s campaign, Waiguru did not only heap praises on the UDA leader’s economic plans, but also launched scathing attacks against his opponent Karanja Kibicho.

Waiguru called out Kibicho, who is her main opponent in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial race, asking President Uhuru Kenyatta to sack him.

She termed Karanja Kibicho as a disobedient Civil servant who has been showing his political alienation by castigating Ruto’s camp.

“I want to tell the President there are many people he can employ in Kirinyaga. He should replace Kibicho with immediate effect,” Waiguru said.

Her sentiments attracted uproar from her other opponent Wangui Ngirici.

The Kirinyaga Woman Rep defended Karanja Kibicho from the scathing attacks of Waiguru, saying he has developed the county.

“It’s now clear that both of us are in UDA but Kirinyaga leadership must be respected. It is courtesy of PS Karanja Kibicho that we have seen Wang’uru stadium and the overall improvement of road network in Mwea constituency,” the Woman Rep said.
