Arsenal fans in Kenya direct anger at opposition leader after loss to Liverpool

by Enock Ndayala

Arsenal fans have blamed ODM leader Raila Odinga after the Gunners lost to Liverpool.

On the night of Wednesday, March 16, Raila watched as Liverpool beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium to secure a huge three points in the Premier League title race to pile pressure on Manchester City.

Prior to the game, the ODM leader, a diehard supporter of the gunners had predicted that his team would score at least two goals to beat Jurgen Klopp’s side.

“Tonight we play Liverpool. I know Liverpool is closely trailing and watching leaders Manchester City but it will be a different story at Emirates. Arsenal will score two goals against Liverpool,” said the ODM leader before the match.

Despite this, the Gunners failed to fire bullets leading to a two-goal defeat contrary to what the former prime minister had predicted.

Immediately after the match, Arsenal fans took to social media blaming the former prime minister for the loss linking the defeat to Raila’s attendance.

The fans hilariously presumed that the opposition leader who has unsuccessfully vied for the country’s top seat four times brought his losing streak to the team.

Kivumbi.co.ke has sampled some of the comments by Arsenal fans:

“Because of these Omens Arsenal is losing,” Evans Mayende said.

“Arsenal was on a good winning streak until the perennial losers brought bad omen to Emirates. Losing is in your DNA..this is how you will lose terribly in the August general elections,” said Alex Jagra.

Samwel Ngige said:

“On behalf of Kenya and Kenyans at large, we wish to tell everyone that Raila Odinga being there didn’t represent Kenyans stand, We are sorry for welcoming bad lack to watch the game…”
