Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has sensationally claimed that he would have been a Cabinet Secretary if Raila Odinga won the August 9, presidential election.
While wondering what really happened on Tuesday, August 9, the ODM legislator said he would now be serving Kenyans not as a lawmaker but as a CS.
He said Raila’s camp had big plans adding that he would either be heading the Interiors or Education docket had the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party formed the government.
“Sometimes I wake in the middle of the night and ask myself what really happened,
“Personally, I knew now I would not be sitting in this office. Right now I would be serving Kenyans at a different level as a Cabinet Secretary either for the Interior or Education. But look at me now,” Babu Owino said.
Babu who was speaking on Monday, December 12, during an interview on NTV in a feature dubbed, ‘Why Raila lost,’ further defended Suna East MP Junet Mohammed over alleged misuse of Azimio agent funds.
Immediately after the elections, the parliamentarian started to make announcements via his social media handles on what he would do or not do if he becomes head of the education ministry.
The outspoken legislator who was part of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party presidential campaign secretariat said Raila’s camp was to blame for the loss.
“In these elections, we cannot blame Kenya Kwanza. We have to blame ourselves. Within our house. That is where the problem started,” he said.
In the results announced by IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati on Monday, August 15, William Ruto garnered 7,176,141 votes, defeating Azimio flagbearer Raila Odinga who had 6,942,930 votes.
