BBI judgement: William Ruto to win regardless of outcome-Miguna Miguna

Miguna Miguna has claimed that William Ruto stands to gain political mileage irrespective of the decision of the court on BBI

As the country eagerly awaits the judgment by the Supreme Court on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), Miguna Miguna has claimed that Deputy President William Ruto stands to gain political mileage irrespective of the decision of the court.

Commenting on the expected Ruling, lawyer Miguna said that DP Ruto will use whichever ruling that will be made by the court to gain support among Kenyans ahead of the August polls.

This morning the 7 Supreme Court judges led by Chief Justice Martha Koome are expected to give their judgment in regards to the BBI appeal filed by the attorney general and IEBC.

The 7 judges could allow the appeals and overturn the Court of Appeal findings that declared BBI unconstitutional, null and void on August 25, 2021, hence giving a lifeline to the initiative.

The other outcome is that the judges could dismiss the appeals and uphold the decisions of the lower courts thereby stopping the BBI reggae.

Miguna opines that in the event the highest court overturns the Court of Appeal ruling, DP Ruto will use the judgment to mobilize Kenyans to vote against the ODM leader so as to protect the constitution.

According to Miguna, allowing the BBI would amount to tampering with the constitution just to benefit a few people.

“If the supreme court allows ‘BBI fraud’, we will use it to mobilize voters to defeat conman Raila so as to protect the constitution from mutilation,” Miguna wrote on Twitter.

But in the event the judges upheld the Court of Appeal ruling, the DP Ruto team will use the judgment to campaign against the Azimio team.

Miguna opines that a ruling that puts a stop to BBI, will be a good weapon against BBI promoters bearing in mind that DP Ruto has always accused President Uhuru and his handshake partners of using BBI to create positions of power and abandoning the Big 4 agenda.

If the Supreme Court puts a stop to BBI, DP Ruto will be vindicated as he has opposed the initiative from the beginning.

“If the supreme court buries the ‘BBI fraud’, we will use it to campaign against BBI promoters. Either way, they will lose,” the controversial lawyer added.

On the other hand, Azimio la Umoja team will only celebrate the judgment if the highest court will uphold the appeals and overturn the decisions by the lower courts.

It should be noted that BBI was of the major political projects by President Uhuru and the ODM leader aimed at curing the never-ending political violence witnessed before and after every election cycle.
