Fireworks are expected at Bomet Green stadium during the United Democratic Alliance rally to be addressed by the Deputy President on Mon day, January 10.

Speaking to the press ahead of the tour Bomet governor Hillary Barchok, said it will be a United Democratic Alliance party affair and those with ill intentions are unwelcomed.

The governor warned those planning to heckle leaders at the rally to keep off at a time politicians from RRIft valley are falling over themselves to get William Ruto’s endorsement ahead of the August 2022 General Election.

Meeting convened by the governor yesterday ended in disarray when youths stormed in and jeered nominated MP Wilson Sossion accusing him of being an intruder.

Being a strong base of the Deputy President, the governor called upon leaders to avoid sideshows.

“If you are planning to attend the rally since we are all residents of Bomet you are welcomed but we do not want to be dictated by anyone on who will speak and who will not…. allow us to conduct the program the way we know,” Barchok said.

He also cautioned residents against being misused by politicians to engage in unruly behaviors or demean their competitors by heckling.

Isaac Rutto and Chief Administrative Secretary John Mosonik who are eying the gubernatorial seat hit out at the governor for micromanaging Ruto’s tour.

Speaking to the press, the two prevailed upon leaders, aspirants, and supporters of various candidates to set aside their difference for the success of the two-day rally.

“Political differences are there but we do not want to display it on that day, let us remain peaceful until when the visitor (William Ruto) has left,” said Mosonik.

The Deputy President is on a tour of the county, drumming up support for his presidential bid where he is expected to face off with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
