They accused Khalwale of eloping with William Ruto’s KSh 1Million donation that was to be isuued to the residents.

The side led by Isukha East MCA Farouk Machanje vowed to stop Boni Khalalwe from vying as the Kakamega governor under UDA ticket.

“I’m here as the MCA of Isukha East, and we want Khalwale to come out and account for Ksh1million Ruto donated to help our youth and women.

“I’m asking my friend DP, kindly look for someone else and work with him for the Kakamega county gubernatorial race. Khalwale is a no. He is a political broker,” he said.

Another faction led by UDA Shinyalu  Youth leader said those opposed to Khalwale are moles of Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC party.

The chaos comes after a tough warning by William Ruto that UDA nomination certificates will not be issued to members who are involved in volent altercations.

Addressing UDA party aspirants on Tuesday, October 19, Ruto warned of an automatic disqualification of violent aspirants found using chaos to suppress their competitors.

“Any candidate that uses violence in UDA will be disqualified; violence must never be part of the equation in UDA,” William Ruto said.

Despite the warning on violence, William Ruto has assured aspirants that the UDA nominations will be free, fair and transparent.

This was after concerns that William Ruto has his own preferred candidates who might be favoured in the party primaries.
