Taking to his social media, Boni Khalwale revealed that he took the responsibility for educating Antony when he was in Form 1.

“God is good! One morning in 2010, a mother with her little boy came to my home for support to join Form one. I promptly obliged, fitted the boy with uniform & took him to school,

“Now grown into a man, Antony Itemere visited me today to announce he is vying for MCA Isukha South!” Boni wrote.

The former Kakamega Senator has been on the forefront in pushing the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), a party associated with Deputy President William Ruto, membership drive.

He has been partaking in the opening of UDA offices and meeting candidates who seek to contest under the UDA ticket.

In 2010, Boni Khalwale was a Member of Parliament for Ikolomani constituency before successfully vying for the Kakamga county senatorial seat in the2013 General Election.

As of June 20, 2021, the UDA Party was boasting of having 2.8 Million registered members, with the majority being residents of the Rift Valley Region, William Ruto’s political bastion.

In the 2022 General Election, Khalwale seeks to contest for the Kakamega gubernatorial post.

He is set for a tough battle to succeed Governor Wycliffe Oparanya as other political heavyweights in the region have also declared their interest in the seat.

Kakamega’s current deputy Governor, Philip Kutima is also eyeing the seat and has been endorsed by his boss, Wycliffe Oparanya.

Wycliffe Oparanya eyes the presidential seat, Khalwale will also be battling other competitors such as Lugari MP Ayub Savula and Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala.
