Popular human rights activist Boniface Mwangi has said that the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party does not need people like COTU boss Francis Atwoli.

Via a social media post on Friday, May 27, the photojournalist termed Atwoli as a ‘thief’ who should be aligned with the Kenya Kwanza coalition led by Deputy President William Ruto.

“The kind of thieves that should not be part of Azimio. His level of looting is in the same league with United Democratic Alliance (UDA),” Boniface Mwangi said in a Tweet.

The outspoken former politician, who boats of having Raila’s running mate Martha Karua as his lawyer, further noted that the COTU Secretary-General does not add any value to the coalition.

While calling on the 2022 presidential election front runner Raila Odinga to dissociate himself with the vocal unionist, Mwangi said that Atwoli’s running mouth will cost him a lot of votes.

“This man adds no value to Azimio, every time he opens his mouth, voters scatter,” he added.

Mwangi’s sentiments come just a day after Atwoli sensationally claimed that Luhya’s supporting the Kenya Kwanza alliance presidential flag bearer William Ruto will not make it beyond August 9.

The vibrant trade unionist, a critic of DP Ruto, who had accompanied the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party flag bearer Raila Odinga who is on a 5-day vote-hunt tour of the Western region said Ruto’s supporters may die before the polls.

“For those Luhyas who are behind him (Ruto), I want to tell them something right now, as an elder, I say be careful for those supporting him may not make it with us to August 8,

“God will call them! The God of gods will call them! Do you hear me?” Atwoli said in Busia while drumming up support for Raila Odinga.
