Following the move, former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu reminded the President to keep his promise to women.

In what appears that the former Kitui governor was indirectly seeking a Cabinet Secretary slot in the Kenya Kwanza government, Charity Ngilu asked the Head of State to include 11 women in his cabinet.

“He (President William Ruto) promised 50 percent 11 women in the cabinet, that we can support. Let’s wait and see,” Ngilu said in a Tweet.

However, a section of Kenyans immediately took to the comment section to blast Ngilu for demanding that women be given at least 11 Cabinet Secretaries.

Ngilu, who dropped out of the Kitui gubernatorial race to focus on popularizing Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party flag bearer Raila Odinga’s presidential candidature faced the wrath of Kenyans who told her to keep off Kenya Kwanza affairs.

“You kept abusing William Ruto, you have no business supporting anything he does, keep supporting the opposition.”

Dennis Muturi said;

“No matter the number, you’re guaranteed you ain’t one of them. Even if you were the only woman left in Kenya, still it can’t be you. If it’s you at Linet Toto, Toto will have to resign from Women Rep for the post.”

Activist Kevinne Jee said;

“Why are you concerned yet you said when he appears in TV you switch it off? So don’t bother about the 50% of women coz you won’t be part of it.”
