Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o has for the first time spoken on how he navigated the stormy nominations of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

On Thursday, February 9, ODM MPs convened at the Maanzoni Lodge in Machakos County to address hygiene issues following the decision by some of its members to pledge loyalty to President Ruto.

The opposition was also meeting to chart the way forward on how to keep President William Ruto’s government in check after ODM party leader Raila Odinga insisted that his victory was stolen.

However, Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor commonly known as Jalango was kicked out of the meeting which was chaired by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

The comedian-cum politician was who was among the eight legislators who met President William Ruto on Tuesday, February 7, and had arrived at Maanzoni Lodge ready for the meeting.

However, the youthful legislator encountered resistance from a section of Azimio MPs and senators who accused him of betraying the political outfit that took him to the Nationa Assembly.

But according to video clips doing round on social media, Jalang’o was later allowed in after his Embakasi counterpart Babu Owino matched out of the meeting and came in with Jalas.

However, immediately after the former Prime Minister walked in, Raila’s security ordered Lang’ata MP to match out of the meeting.

Confirming the incident, Jalang’o said he feels bad he had been kicked out of the meeting adding that he will not apologize for meeting President William Ruto.

“I feel bad that I have been kicked out of the meeting. I will not apologize for meeting with President William Ruto on development issues,”

“When I came in, a few boys tried to block me but later I was allowed in. When Raila walked in, his security told me to get out,” he said. Commenting on his recent move to shift allegiance to Kenya Kwanza, the ODM legislator said he decided to work with the government after realizing that the opposition was not willing to give him what he wanted.
