Confirmed, William Ruto not among President Uhuru’s preferred successors

The Mt Kenya Foundation has been on a mission to find President Uhuru preferred successor in the 2022 General Election.

For this reason, the group has held talks with ODM leader Raila Odinga and members of One Kenya Alliance (OKA) including Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.

On Thursday, October 7, the Mt Kenya Foundation members held a round table talk with the OKA principals.

In the meeting, OKA principals promised tycoons from Mt Kenya that they will provide a secure political environment for their businesses to thrive if elected.

“When you go home, ask yourselves, who can you trust? When you sleep, who can you trust?

“If you are a businessman and you are a landlord, how do you feel when your houses have been occupied and you have never got restitution for those houses? These are the questions, who can you trust?” Musalia Mudavadi posed questions to the Mt Kenya Foundation leaders.

Before meeting One Kenya Alliance, the leaders had met Raila Odinga, who also promised to serve their interests if elected as President Uhuru’s preferred successors.

After concluding talks with OKA and Raila Odinga, the tycoons announced that they will hold a retreat and come up with the name of President Uhuru’s preferred successor.

This means that the businessmen have no intention of engaging Deputy President William Ruto, he thus not among the list of President Uhuru’s preferred successor.

The MKF members disputed reports that they had settled on Raila Odinga as the preferred successor, promising to give an equal chance to the OKA principals too.

“As Mt Kenya Foundation, we have no preferred candidate. We have given you (OKA principals) the key to walk to Mt Kenya and convince the people,

“The people in the region will deliberate and make a decision. We go to Limuru Three to make a decision on our preferred candidate,” said Foundation’s vice-chair Titus Ibui.
