Francis Atwoli: I warned President Uhuru that Ruto will get into his ‘bedroom’

Other than the security threat, the COTU Boss also said that the Hustler narrative that DP Ruto is spreading is a dangerous one.

COTU boss Francis Atwoli has said he warned President Uhuru Kenyatta that unless he tamesd his deputy William Ruto, he would raid his political strongholds.

Speaking during the burial of his deputy’s wife on Saturday, August 7, Atwoli said his words came to pass as Ruto’s men have won 3 out 3 by-elections in Mt Kenya region, considered Uhuru’s political bastion.

The outspoken COTU boss further claimed when Ruto suggests that some leaders spend time drinking alcohol, he is insulting the President.

“During the funeral of Musalia Mudavadi’s mother, I told president Uhuru this kid (William Ruto) will get into your bedroom if you are not careful,

“He went to Juja constituency and won against Jubilee. He went to Kiambaa– where Uhuru’s mother hails from- and won. Hio sio madharau (is that not being contemptuous)?” the COTU boss asked.

Atwoli went ahead to say Wiliam Ruto has shown little regard for his boss President Uhuru to the extend of indirectly insulting him as people cheer him on.

“When he (William Ruto) says some politicians spent time drinking alcohol as he discusses his bottom-up economic model, he is not only insulting people like Musalia Mudavadi but the president too,” Atwoli went on.

The COTU boss utterances comes at a time William Ruto is contemplating exiting the Jubilee party ahead of taking a stab at the presidency in the 2022 General Election.

In a meeting with over 135 MPs allied to him last week, the deputy president criticised his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s, second term record.

Although he still holds his position as deputy president as well as deputy party leader of the Jubilee party, it is common knowledge William Ruto has his allegiance to United Democratic Alliance, a party he has confessed he will use to vie for the presidency in 2022.
