Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has declared that he is going to work towards defeating Deputy President William Ruto in the fourth coming presidential election.
Speaking during a burial in Kitui County on July 24, Kalonzo told DP William Ruto to brace for a tough battle in the 2022 General Election.
“Defeating Ruto is my number one priority, and I know why. I also welcome my brother Johnson Muthama to work with us once we clinch the victory because defeating you, we shall,” said the Wiper Party leader.
Kalonzo Musyoka reached out to former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, who is an ally of William Ruto, asking him to return back ‘home.’
While expressing his determination in defeating William Ruto, Kalonzo also dismissed the hustler narrative being peddled by him.
He told Ukambani residents not to fall for Ruto’s trap since they have endured hardships, and are aware of true hustling.
“If it is the issue of hustling, then I think our community has faced enough hostilities and know what hustling is,
“We have been taken for granted for long, this semi-arid region has been marginalized and almost forgotten, but it is our time now,” the former Vice President said.
Other than Kalonzo, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has also been strategising to ensure William Ruto does not succeed his boss Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
In June, Ngilu urged Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to unite so as to defeat stop Ruto in the 2022 General Election.
The Governor warned that if the two principals do not unite, Ruto is guaranteed of an easy win in the next polls.
But the deputy president has previously said he is not scared of anyone who plans to face him in 2022.
Instead, he has assured them that he is ready to face them as a single man no matter the type of coalitions they form.
“Some are forming this alliance, while others are joining the other alliance. I want to tell them that I am preparing myself for them. I know you are with me and those in alliances should prepare for the shock,” Ruto assured.
