by Enock Ndayala

Deputy President Ruto has slammed ODM leader Raila Odinga and Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka for fighting over projects he implemented with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In an interview with Radio Jambo on Tuesday, July 13, William Ruto said he was shocked to see the two accompanying President Uhuru Kenyatta to launch and inspect projects yet they were the ones who mocked the performance of the Jubilee government.

“Those who told us this government has done nothing, right now they are clinging, almost fighting to see the projects that the president and I have done,” Ruto said.

Ruto went ahead to blame Raila for the Jubilee administration’s poor development record in its second term.

This, he said, is because Raila and Uhuru are busy trying to amend the constitution through BBI instead of focusing on delivering the Jubilee party manifesto.

“Reggae, BBI, changing the constitution is what we have done for the last 4 years,” Deputy President Ruto said.

Last week, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga accompanied the Head of State during his two-day state visit to the Ukambani region where they were received by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Kalonzo said he was shocked to see Raila Odinga accompany the President to Ukambani yet he was not informed in advance.

The trio together with other local leaders including Governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Charity Ngilu (Kitui), and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) inspected the progress of the Thwake dam project in Makueni County before launching the Kibwezi-Makueni road.

During President Uhuru’s three-day state visit in Nyanza that ended on Madaraka Day on June 1, President Uhuru launched 8 ‘handshake’ projects including the Ksh 3.8 billion Nakuru-Kisumu Metre Gauge Railway.

The Head of State was accompanied by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga received criticism from Ruto’s sympathizers after he launched the eight projects in absence of DP Ruto.
