Detectives from DCI have summoned Suna East MP Junet Mohamed in relation to the stoning of ODM leader Raila Odinga’s chopper.

Detectives from the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have summoned Suna East MP Junet Mohamed in relation to the stoning of ODM leader Raila Odinga’s chopper.

Odinga’s chopper came under attack when he traveled to Soy to attend the funeral of renowned businessman Jackson Kibor.

The legislator in a Twitter account on Monday, April 4, shared an invite allegedly from the DCI requesting him to appear before the detective on Tuesday, April 5, for grilling.

“Good morning Junet Mohamed. My name is John Gachomo from DCI headquarters; I am kindly summoning you to our offices for an interview on Tuesday 5th April 2022 in regards to the stoning of Raila Odinga’s chopper in soy constituency Uasin Gishu County. Kindly comply,” Junet said.

Junet had accompanied former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to Jackson Kibor’s burial in Uasin Gishu County on Friday, April 1, and was among the first people to break the news alleging that the attackers made an attempt on their lives.

Junet will be the fourth politician to be summoned over the incident as the police continue with their investigations.

Last week, DCI named Soy MP Caleb Kositany and his Kapseret counterpart Oscar Sudi, Uasin Gishu county speaker David Kiplagat as the main planners and funders of the violence meted on the ODM leader.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the chaos was organized and coordinated by Soy MP Caleb Kositany, Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi, and David Kiplagat, speaker of Uasin Gishu County Assembly,” DCI said.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has summoned three suspects allegedly involved in the planning of the attack on Raila Odinga’s helicopter.

This comes even as the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) Kenya has called for a speedy probe into the incident where Raila Odinga’s chopper was stoned.
