Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa claims Ruto almost slapped him because of President Uhuru

by Enock Ndayala

Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party-allied politicians have been accusing Deputy President William Ruto of having a bad temper and as such not being fit to be president.

Ever since the leaked audio of Ruto’s confession to almost slapping President Uhuru for attempting to refuse to participate in the 2017 repeat presidential election, his enemies are not relenting.

Raila Odinga’s running-mate Martha Karua on Friday, July 8 claimed Ruto is politically immature because of his bad temper hence Kenyans should not make the mistake of electing him.

Now Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has sensationally claimed William Ruto almost slapped him in 2018.

Speaking during an Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party rally in Bukhungu, Kakamega county, Eugene Wamalwa said Ruto was angered after the CS led a delegation of Western Kenya politicians and leaders to State House.

“The DP was very furious and demanded my resignation. He wanted me to explain why I had taken the leaders to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta without his Ruto’s permission,” Eugene Wamalwa said.

He went ahead to say that had Ruto attempted to slap him, he would have reacted and dealt with him properly.

The CS, who worked closely with Ruto in the 2013 General Election however said he has since forgiven William Ruto but said he cannot be trusted to be Kenya’s president.

“I have forgivene the deputy president for the embarrassment…but this shows he cannot be trusted with leadership,” Eugene Wamalwa went on.

His sentiments come barely a week after ODM Secreatary General Edwin Sifuna said should William Ruto be elected president in the August 9 General Election, he would have to flee Kenya.

Sifuna, who is eyeing the Naiobi sentorial seat, said uto has a bad temper and thus too dangerous to be president.

“This man is very dangerous if he takes power. I promise you if Ruto becomes president, I Sifuna will have to hide in a foreign country because of his anger,” he said.
