But speaking during the launch of Taifa liquefied petroleum gas in Dongo Kundu on Friday, February 24, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua claimed that Raila was sacked because of constant demos.

The Second in Command said that Raila had abandoned his job and instead focused on leading anti-Kenya Kwanza protests.

“These demonstrations are making this man (Raila Odinga) go at a loss. He had a big job in African Union infrastructure,

“He left the job and decided to go for demonstrations and now he has been chased away from AU,” Gachagua said.

The immediate former Matgira Member of Parliament further stated that protests have caused Raila losses over the years but still persist on them.

“He (Raila Odinga) has been involved in demonstrations for 20 years and every year he loses something. When he was being looked for by AU to do his job, he was nowhere to be seen. Now see he is jobless,” the DP added.

Earlier, the former Prime Minister dismissed claims that he was fired adding that he had asked to be relieved about three weeks ago.

Raila said he expressed his desire to be allowed time to attend to other matters that need his attention.

Raila who unsuccessfully contested for the country’s top seat in the 2022 General Election has been holding weekly protests demanding the resignation of President William Ruto.

The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader insists that he won the presidential elections and that his victory was snatched.
