Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has torn into Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s outbursts.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Sunday, November 20, critiqued President William Ruto for permitting the importation of Genetically Modified maize (GMO) without public participation calling the Ruto administration a puppet of the West.

“He (William Ruto) is being a puppet, working for foreign nations and their multinationals against our interest as a nation. He is working to promote foreign biotechnology institutions abroad,” Raila said.

However, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua fired back at Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga telling him that President William Ruto’s administration had no time for his advice.

Gachagua who was speaking in Lagdera sub-county, Garissa on Monday, November 21, said that the president was working for the west as purported by Raila adding that Ruto was free to work with all partners to deliver as per Kenya Kwanza presidential manifesto.

“President Ruto is nobody’s puppet. President William Ruto will work with the West, the East and if need be, the North, South, and Centre. The president needs no advice from that corner (Raila Odinga)…Leave the president alone,” Gachagua said.

The former Mathira MP further asked the ODM leader to stop lecturing the President on what to do stating that the Jubilee government failed because of Raila’s wrong advice.

“Raila should stop lecturing us on what to do and what not to do, the last time he gave advice to the government led by Uhuru Kenyatta the country found itself in KSh 2 trillion debts,” he added.
