DP Ruto allies are counting on the Kiambaa by-election to give them a platform to initiate a total takeover of Mt kenya politics.

Speaking to the press, Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata said that the plan is to disapprove Jubilee party leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta whom he accused of having messed up a once vibrant political party..

“We are not competing against the President, we are competing against those in his advisory team who have thrived on lying to him and leading him into a succession conflict with his own people,” Irung’u Kang’ata said.

DP Ruto allies flocked Kiambaa constituency on Thursday, July 15 to oversee the voting process, and support their very own John Njuguna who is up against a very strong candidate vying on a Jubilee party ticket.

As it has been a norm in the past by-elections, William Ruto allies have decried plans by Jubilee to rig the polls.

In a video shared on his Twitter page, Senator Irungu Kang’ata accused Jubilee of using state machinery to act in their favor.

Earlier in the morning, Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya who is also the majority leader in National Assembly had a heated confrontation with people believed to be UDA supporters in Kiambaa.

The youths accused Kimunya of plans to rig the by-elections, claiming he had not been declared as an agent by the IEBC. He later proved that he was actually accredited to appear in the polling station as an agent.

Hakutakuwa na Amani Mpaka atoke hapa.Enda Kipipiri uko hatukutaki hapa,(There will be no peace until he gets out of here. Go back to Kipipiri (constituency), we do not need you here!) Kimunya must go,” said the angry youths.

Political players allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta have their eyes set on the prize in Kiambaa.

“If Uhuru Kenyatta loses Kiambaa to his Deputy, it will be the ultimate mark of the sheer incompetence, tomfoolery & disloyalty of the people in his Kitchen Cabinet. Like any great leader, he should take all to a public square & hang them! A King never loses,” tweeted lawyer Donald Kipkorir, a supporter of Uhuru.
