As the saying goes, he who finds a wife finds a good thing; and this is what Deputy President William Ruto seems to have found in his longtime partner and wife, Rachael Ruto.

No doubt, the former Eldoret North MP has scaled the heights in his political career, having not lost an election since he joined politics.

For this, Ruto, known for his super politician organizational skills, gives credit to his wife Rachael Ruto, who has held his family and given him maximum support.

“I think the success of my family is actually my wife because I married a wife who is like an angel. That is how my success came to be. It is God’s grace,

“When you find a wife who helps you, understands you, prays for you, that is when you get lucky to make progress,” William Ruto said in an interview on Radio Jambo.

Ruto, who has set his eyes on becoming Kenya’s 5th president in the 2022 General Election, also hailed his wife for trusting in him and believing in his dreams.

She hardly speaks in public and portrays a shy demeanour every time she is seen by her husband’s side.

The soft-spoken and media-shy Rachael Ruto hails from Likuyani, Kakamega county and William Ruto in a previous interview has said he had to learn Luhya language in order to win her.

In the July 13 Radio interview, Ruto also spoke about marrying off his daughter, June Ruto to Nigerian man Alexander Ezenagu.

He said that he wished June got a Kenyan spouse, but respects her choice and blesses the marriage.

”I had previously seen an Ochieng’ but I do not know what happened. I was kind of disappointed that after educating her, taking her to good schools in Kenya and Australia, she ended up getting married to a Nigerian Man,”  he said.
