Yesterday, outspoken Gatundu South Member of Parliament made similar allegations saying that president Uhuru Kenyatta has neglected the region’s demands.

Kuria, a strong ally to DP William Ruto accused the Head of State of neglecting the GEMA region in his development agenda for the nation following his magical handshake with opposition leader Raila Odinga in March 2018.

“For the past four years, we have been lamenting that our businesses have collapsed. We have been complaining that enforcement officers are harassing traders in Nyamakima and Gilomba. Still, nothing has been done to that effect,” Kuria said.

He further accused Uhuru of doing little to his own region adding that most public medical facilities in the region lack drugs, while some areas are without proper road infrastructure.

Economist David Ndii says this barely days after former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti warned that Mt Kenya region could miss could miss the presidency for 100 years following poor president Uhuru Kenyatta’s development record in the region.

“You have had the presidential seat for many years. You even have the seat now but you are not respecting it. What do you want? If you keep joking you will stay out of government for 100 years,” she said.
