Police in Embakasi, Nairobi County have launched investigations into the mysterious disappearance of the Embakasi East Constituency returning officer.
Daniel Mbolu Musyoka reportedly went missing on Thursday, August 11, at around 0900 hours under unclear circumstances.
According to a police report seen by Kivumbi.co.ke and filed at Embakasi police station, Musyoka reported to the East African School of Aviation where the tallying of votes for Embakasi Constituency was being done.
However, 45 minutes later, the 50-year-old returning officer excused himself for a call but he never returned.
“It was reported by APC Dennis Maina Gichure a bodyguard to one Daniel Mbolu Musyoka, the returning officer for Embakasi East constituency that today 11/08/2022 at around 0900hrs he escorted him from his house at the East African School of Aviation to the tallying center within the same compound,
“At around 0945hrs he excused himself for a call but never returned till now. His mobile phone is off. His duties at the tallying center are being conducted by the assistant returning officer.

He was not sick but has a medical history of high blood sugar. Search has been conducted in several surrounding hospitals but he is yet to be traced.
