Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has endorsed the Infotrack survey claiming that the country is headed in the wrong direction.

The youthful legislator on Sunday, March 26, said that the country was headed in the wrong direction due to bad leadership.

Speaking at the Jesus Teaching Ministries (JTM) in Donholm, Babu Owino sensationally claimed that the bad leaders came into power through the rigging.

He said sometimes God allows bad leaders to rig their way into power as a punishment from God so that citizens can open their eyes.

“The reason everything bad is happening is that we have bad leadership in this country. Sometimes God will give you leaders to punish you,

“Sometimes God will allow somebody to rig so that his people are punished. Here in Kenya, we are being punished so that we open our eyes,” he said.

The Embakasi East MP however expressed optimism adding that the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party will pursue and recover what was lost during the 2022 presidential election.

“With our leader, the people’s President Raila Amolo Odinga, we shall pursue our political nemesis. We shall overtake our political opponents and without fail we shall recover all,” he said.

His comments come at a time the opposition leader is holding to the fact that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) rigged him out.

According to Raila, he got 8.1 million votes in the 2022 presidential elections whereas his main political nemesis William Ruto polled 5.9 million votes.

However, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati declared William Ruto the president-elect after he got 7.1 million votes against Raila’s 6.9 million votes.

As such, Raila who unsuccessfully contested the presidential results at the Supreme Court has launched weekly protests to be held on every Monday and Thursday as he seeks to reclaim his ‘stolen’ victory.

Raila is further demanding the opening of the IEBC election servers as well as the current high cost of living.
