Political fanatic Nuru Okanga has warned opposition leader Raila Odinga against associating himself with President William Ruto.

On Monday, January 23, ODM leader Raila Odinga held demonstrations at the famous Kamkunji ground shortly after getting back into the country from South Africa.

Addressing thousands of his supporters, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party Presidential candidate termed the Kenya Kwanza government as illegitimate.

The former Prime Minister further stated that Ruto was rigged in and that he does not recognize him as the President.

But speaking in Gatundu where he attended the funeral of Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria’s sister Pauline, President Ruto termed Odinga’s fresh demands as a ploy to blackmail him into handshake talks.

“Don’t tell us that you don’t want a handshake. We are seeing you and we know you very well,” the president said.

The Head of State further maintained that state organs will counter any attempt to make the county ungovernable and disrupt his administration’s economic transformation agenda.

“My friends, isn’t it time you change tactics?” he posed. “There’s no way you will outwit me. Forget about matters handshake.”… It will not work. Forget about it,” President Ruto said.

However, former Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri claimed that president Ruto has been secretly yearning for a handshake with opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Nguniri, a close ally of President Ruto revealed that he usually talks with the president and that sometimes he wants to have a sitting with Raila Odinga.

Ngunjiri however maintained that the president is worried about having a handshake with Raila because he fears that the veteran politician will destroy the Kenya Kwanza government just like he allegedly did to the previous regime.

“I usually hold conversations with Ruto and sometimes he wants to have a sitting with Raila but he tells me if we bring Raila to the government he will destroy it,” Ngunjiri said.
