Ex-Kisauni MP claims Mohhamed Ali has no house “anaishi kwa hoteli”

by Enock Ndayala

Nyali MP Mohhamed Ali commonly as Jicho Pevu appears to have set his eyes on the Mombasa gubernatorial seat in the 2027 elections.

The veteran journalist is expected to battle it out with East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) representative Hassan Omar for the UDA party ticket.

However, as the two battle it out, former Kisauni Member of Parliament Ali Mbogo has warned the people of Mombasa against voting for Jicho Pevu as Mombasa Governor’s replacement.

Mbogo who has expressed support for the Kenya Kwanza government said it will be hard for voters to access the former journalist as he has neither a home nor a house.

“Mohhamed Ali Jicho Pevu hana nyumba. Mjue ni jambo la kusikitisha… Kwa miaka saba anaishi kwa hoteli pale Bliss. Hapo tu Naivas hapo, kuna hoteli inaitwa Bliss. Jamaa anakuja, anafanya siasa na kasha anarudi zake Nairobi. Hata ukimtaka sahi huwezi mpata. Ni kama wale watu tunatuma kufanya kazi Dubai…” Mbogo said.

Loosely translated to “Mohamed Ali Jicho Pevu has no home. You know it’s a sad thing… For seven years he has been living in a hotel at Bliss. Just around Naivas there, there is a hotel called Bliss. The guy comes, he does politics and then he goes back to Nairobi. Even if you want him right now, you can’t find him.”

In an undated video doing rounds on social media, the Lamu Port, South Sudan, Ethiopia Transport (Lapsset) Corridor Development Authority chairman dared to reward anyone who will show him Mohammed Ali’s home.

“Nawauliza tena, nani anajua kwake Jicho Pevu nimpe hela?” the former lawmaker asked.

In what appears his claims are true, none of the locals won the reward as no one knew the house nor a home belonging to the now Nyali MP.
