A video of ex-singer and now Ghetto Radio boss Julius Ondiji Owino alias Maji Maji comforting his elderly supporter after missing to clinch the ODM ticket for Seme constituency has emerged.

In the video, which has since gone viral, Maji Maji also broke into tears after he was denied a chance to fly the ODM ticket, a move that appears to have completely killed his political career.

The unbwogable hitmaker was seeking to vie for Seme parliamentary seat on an ODM ticket but his bitter rival was handed a direct ticket.

Gidi’s elderly female supporter could not come to terms with the fact that the aspiring politician was denied the opportunity to compete with incumbent MP James Nyikal.

The ODM hopeful’s supporter is heard lamenting over the hefty amount of money that the legendary singer spent on his campaign as she cried foul.

“My son, this is what you get after all that suffering? You really suffered. You were almost hit by a car while campaigning. They should at least let you fail in the election instead of denying you the chance to compete,” lamented Maji Maji’s mum.

It can be remembered how Raila, then endorsing retired president Mwai Kibaki for the 2002 presidential race, used Maji Maji’s song Unbwogable in campaigns.

This is not the first ODM hopefuls from the Nyanza region to be shortchanged in the just ended ODM nominations despite spending millions on popularising the party.

Two days ago, Kivumbi.co.ke reported that Fatuma Mohammed an aspirant seeking the ODM ticket for the Migori County Women Rep seat lost the nomination despite spending millions on her campaign.

Fatuma, who was making a third stab at the seat disclosed that she sold her house for KSh 25 Million to bankroll her campaigns and prove to ODM that she is fit to fly the party’s flag on August 9.
