“It has been an honor to have been a part of the biggest Party in Kenya,” she said.

Her move to step aside comes barely months after Mutua lost in ODM nominations in the gubernatorial race to current Busia Governor Paul Otuoma

It is suspected that the former Busia Woman Rep is eying for greener pastures in President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Government.

Although she did not give much detail on her next political move, it is suspected that the vocal politician is eying for Principal Secretary Position in one of the ministries.

During the presidential campaigns for the August 9, General Election, Mutua, famously known as Mama Ni Mmoja threatened to lead protests demanding William Ruto’s apology for demeaning women and insulting the then Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugine Wamalwa.

“We are going to hold serious demonstrations as Western women and tell William Ruto not to expect any support from us Western women for first abusing our men and secondly demeaning us women,” she said.

Kivumbi.co.ke understands that Mutua is not the first leader to dump Raila since he lost his fifth presidential stab to William Ruto.

Last month, former Kisii governor James Ongwae decamped from Raila’s Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party to President-elect William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza alliance.

Ongwae was an ardent supporter of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and was elected as governor on an ODM ticket for 10 years.
