Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta refers to ODM leader Raila Odinga as the fifth resident in their private meetings.

While appearing on Spice FM’s breakfast show, the Situation Room, on Tuesday, January 11, the Tujibebe Wakenya Party leader said it is not in doubt that the opposition chief is President Uhuru’s choice for president in 2022.

He said that during Raila Odinga’s 77th birthday private celebration party on Friday, January 7, at the Bomas of Kenya, the Head of State referred to Raila as the ‘Fifth president’ a clear indication that the opposition chief is a ‘government project.’

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta refers to ODM leader Raila Odinga as the fifth resident.

“The other day at the birthday party, I am told he said hello to the fifth. You do not need more signals,

“You cannot run away from the fact that Raila is now Uhuru’s candidate if you are a seasoned politician, you should see it,” Kabogo said.

According to media reports, attendants at the party were not allowed to use their phones to take photographs or videos.

“When President Kenyatta arrived at the function, all guests were ordered not to take any photographs or videos until he left the party,” stated a media report.

The President was pictured sitting next to Raila at a round table that also had National Assembly Majority Leader, Amos Kimunya, and nominated MP Maina Kamanda.

The first in command is however on record dismissing claims that he has preferred his handshake partner as the best bet in the August 9, General Election.

In an interview with senior editors at State House in August 2021, the President said he will not dictate to Kenyans who they should elect but he will only offer guidance.

“It is neither my duty nor responsibility to tell Kenyans how they should vote. However, it is my duty to remind them that they need to look at who they vote for, and why they are voting for that person,” Uhuru said.
