Former presidential running mate narrates how he lost everything after turning 40

Former Presidential running-mate Ronald Osumba has said he is rebuilding smatter after he lost everything in his life after turning 40 yers.l

Osumba who vied for Deputy President in the March 2013 presidential election on a Kenya National Congress ticket whose presidential flag bearer was former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth says his career was thriving before he joined politics.

He said because he was a victim of the 2007/08 post-election violence, Osumba made up his mind to run for Gem parliamentary seat in the 2013 General Election.

However, the former Starehe Boys alumnus said he met President Mwai Kibaki and Peter Kenneth in 2011 during a function at the National School, a meeting that changed his political ambitions to be a presidential running-mate instead.

He however disclosed that he lost all his accrued wealth after he joined Peter Kenneth presidential team.

The former Senior Manager at Safaricom said he owned several high-end homes, he had bought several pieces of land, and a fleet of cars, the things that he later lost when he entered into politics.

“At 30 married with 1 child, Senior Manager at Safaricom, owned a home, 2 parcels of land, 2 cars… At 33 had 2 children, 3 cars, more land, and running for Deputy President, at 40 lost all those things except my children,” Osumba said in a statement posted on his Twitter account on Thursday, December 30.

The former presidential running mate however says he is back to the drawing board and he is rebuilding exuding confidence that he will bounce back smarter than before.

“At 42 I am rebuilding smarter… I am fighting my own battles, my marriage, my finances, my health, my career, but I have come to love my battle scars because they are my badge of honor. They are proof that I am battle-hardened,

“I will keep fighting this battle and I guarantee you that I will win this war,” he said.
