Former Sports CS Rashid Echesa on Thursday, October 21, reportedly engaged in a fistfight with a police boss over a woman in Mumias East Sub County.

“It was reported by Rajab Munyendo that while they were drinking, someone touched a woman who was in the company of the OCS inappropriately,” a police report read in part.

During the commotion, Munyendo’s Mercedes-Benz which is white in colour was maliciously damaged by the seniro police officer.

Munyendo also alleges that he lost KSh77,000 during the incident which is currently under police investigation.

It is understood that Echesa who was accused of conspiring to make a document with intent to defraud in the multibillion-shilling fake arms deal has been involved in several cases of assault.

In March 2021, Echesa was caught on camera assaulting an Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) official in Matungu during a by-election in the constituency.

Echesa accused the electoral official, identified as Peter Okura, of chasing one of their agents at the Bulonga Primary School polling station.

In a video that went viral, Echesa, a close ally of Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto was seen angrily lecturing the IEBC official, demanding to know why he had chased the United Democratic Alliance agent before removing his mask and slapping him.

“Our agents are outside the polling station, my friend. You cannot chase our agents outside. Why are you chasing them outside? Uliambiwa by who?” Echesa was heard saying in the video.
