Francis Atwoli: Musalia Mudavadi is cheap politician

Central Organization for Trade Union (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli now claims that ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi was bought with a few coins to join William Ruto’s camp.

Central Organization for Trade Union (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli now claims that ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi was bought with a few coins to join William Ruto’s camp.

While terming Mudavadi as a cheap politician, firebrand unionist said the former Vice-President was so cheap that he can be bought on a shilling.

“Musalia (Mudavadi) is a cheap politician; he can disappear on a shilling. He has ashamed us,” Atwoli said.

The vocal unionist, who was speaking in Khwisero, Kakamega County on Tuesday, February 15, said the Kenya Kwanza co-principal has ashamed the Luhya community.

Atwoli, a fierce defender of ODM leader Raila Odinga said that Mudavadi has benefited a lot from him despite the disparaging remarks he lashed out at him.

“Sijakunywa chai kwa nyumba yao. Sijakula kwao, sijakula kwake. Yeye amekula kwangu, ametumia pesa zangu (I’ve not had tea or eaten a meal at his home. But he has eaten a meal at my home. He has even used my money in his political activities),” Atwoli said.

Atwoli was responding to recent remarks by the former Sabatia Member of Parliament who had earlier on claimed that he was talking like someone who has come from Mathare (mental clinic).

Mudavadi who spoke on Tuesday, February 8, during a Kenya Kwanza Campaign rally in Kakamega County had challenged Atwoli to face him head-on instead of hiding behind President Uhuru when insulting other leaders.

“Stop hiding behind President Uhuru to abuse people, if you are man enough come and abuse me here and face me directly but don’t hide behind the president,” Musalia said.

The furious Mudavadi further told Atwoli to respect women, especially his late mother as well as Deputy President William Ruto’s mother.

“(COTU boss Francis) Atwoli, my mother died a year ago. What is your problem with her? Let her rest in peace. What is wrong with (William) Ruto’s mother, let her be. Respect the women of this country. They are mothers,” he said.
