On Sunday, October 2, lawyer Ambrose Rachier revealed that he is a member of the infamous freemason secret group.
Rachier, who is a co-partner in the law firm of Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo disclosed that most of the members of a freemason are ordinary Kenyans, businessmen medical practitioners, and lawyers.
“Most of the people there are just simple Kenyans. Some of them are businessmen; some are medical practitioners and lawyers. I don’t think we have any politician,” Rachier said.
However, in a statement on Monday, October 3, senior counsel Otiende Amollo distanced himself from Gor Mahia FC chairman Ambrose Rachier that he is a member of the freemason.
The vocal legislator further dismissed claims that their law firm is linked with freemason.
“Interesting times! Have seen an interview by my Law Firm Partner Ambrose Rachier on Freemasonry! I Am not and will never join Freemasonry! Let it be known that The Law Firm of Rachier and Amollo LLP Is NOT associated with the movement!” Otiende Amollo said in a Tweet.
In his interview, Rachier said he joined freemason in the year 1994 and dismissed a long-held notion that people join the society ostensibly to acquire wealth and power.
Rachier, further debunked claims linking freemasonry to devil worship stating that the society’s main reason is to spread charity.
“We have Muslims in freemasonry, Christianity, Buddhist, and a few atheists, so there is no reference whatsoever to issues of devil worship, whoever the devil is,” Rachier said.
The lawyer disputed claims that in masonry, there is human sacrifice stating that for the almost three decades he has been in masonry, he has not lost any close family member.
“I want to thank God for this. All my children are alive. I have lost no sibling or child, and they are known,” he said.
