Comedian-turned-politician Jasper Muthomi alias MC Jessy has warned new political entrants, especially youths not to trust anybody with their political plans.

In an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday, April 21, Jessy who is aspiring to be the next Imenti South MP said he trusted Deputy President William Ruto with his plans only for the DP to come and shortchange him.

“Young people have a task ahead of them, especially those of us who have recently joined politics. We have a lot to learn. Do not trust everyone with your political plans,” MC Jessy said.

The Churchill Live Show comedian said the deputy president forced him to drop his parliamentary bid ahead of the August 9, General Election.

He revealed that the deputy president ambushed him with a meeting in which he went in unaware that the meeting was about telling him to drop his parliamentary seat, a move that saw him ditch William Ruto’s UDA.

“After negotiations, I did not agree, I did not want us to do that, you know you must also respect the leaders who are there,

“We talked to the deputy president and he asked me to drop my bid (to be next Imenti South MP), I later confronted him and told him that my community did not want me to support anyone else and give away my ticket,” Jessy said.

On Monday, April 18, kivumbi.co.ke reported that the funnyman had officially left UDA less than three months after joining.

The comedian further insisted that he was firmly in the race for Imenti South parliamentary seat as an independent candidate.

“Sent like an arrow from a mighty man’s hand. We keep going. Bado tuko kwa race (We are still in the race). Let’s do this South Imenti, 9 August it is,” he said in a statement.
