First Lady Rachael Ruto on Sunday, December 18, asked her hubby President William Ruto to pay her after she beat him in a bet they placed on the World Cup Cup finals.

In the World Cup finals played at Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar, President Ruto was backing the 2018 World Cup Champions France to retain the cup while Rachael Ruto was supporting Argentina to lift the trophy.

However, Argentina defeated France 4-2 in a penalty shootout after the game ended with a 3-3 draw.

First Lady Rachael Ruto on Sunday, December 18, asked her hubby President William Ruto to pay her after she beat him in a bet they placed on the World Cup Cup finals.

Following Argentina’s loss, the First Lady asked the Head of State who had lost a football bet to wear the three stars and settle the debt.

“Bill (President William Ruto) wear your three stars with pride, pay your bill,” Rachael Ruto said in a Tweet.

However, it appears that the President does not want to pay the debt; Ruto has asked for clarity on betting rules before he can settle the debt.

In a statement on Monday, December 19, Ruto said that there seems to be no winner between him and the First lady since the match ended in a 2-2 draw in the normal time.

“Lakini nauliza, bet huishanga na 90 minutes ama extra time huesabiwa? Even penalty shootout? Kuuliza tu?” the president said.

He further suggested that he had attempted borrowing from KSh 50 billion Hustler loan he launched last month to settle the debt but his request was declined.

Ruto however said he will settle the debt once he has sold his chicken adding that he is being pressured by his wife and children to settle the debt.

“Hustler Fund wamenikazia siwei lipa bet nayo wanasema ni pesa ya hustle. Isorait.Kwangu hakukaliki. Lady#1 na watoi no pressure. Wale kuku zangu wataniokoa nilipe,” the president said.
