Bitter rivals Anne Waiguru and Wangui Ngirici lock horns over PS Karanja Kibicho

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and Woman representative Wangui Ngirici are at crossroads over a proposal by the governor to have Interior PS Karanja Kibicho fired.

Speaking during William Ruto’s campaign in Runyenjes on Thursday, November 18, Waiguru accused Karanja Kibicho of abusing his position in government by engaging in politics.

The County boss argued that it is wrong for Kibicho to take political sides yet he is still serving as a public servant.

She called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to sack the Interior PS.

“I want to tell the President there are many people he can employ in Kirinyaga. He should replace Kibicho with immediate effect,” she said.

While responding to the calls from Waiguru, Woman Rep Wagui Ngirici opposed her suggestion, saying that Kibicho has been of great use to Kirinyaga County.

“It’s now clear that both of us are in UDA but Kirinyaga leadership must be respected. It is courtesy of PS Karanja Kibicho that we have seen Wang’uru stadium and the overall improvement of road network in Mwea constituency,” the Woman Rep said.

She urged Waiguru to shun the insults and focus on the development projects that the county has achieved courtesy of Kibicho and Uhuru.

“KEMRI is also coming which you vehemently opposed. Two years ago you told us that the president should be respected,

“The respect looks good here. We are in (UDA) but that is not a license to insult your way into the second term (as governor),” she told Waiguru.

The PS has been a fierce critic of William Ruto’s camp, proposing physical punishment for them for opposing the Head of State.  He vowed not to stop taking political sides.

“CS Matiang’I and I are Kenyans, we are stakeholders here and we are going nowhere! If you are going to eat razor blades because we are talking politics go buy them now! If you are pained by our motives, there are trees we will get you a rope..go hang yourself,” Karanja Kibicho dared.
