Governor Charity Ngilu accuses Ruto of creating jobs in Uganda instead of Kenya

Kitui governor Charity Ngilu has bashed DP William Ruto after his revelations that he helped a man to set up a business in Uganda.

According to governor Charity Ngilu, the second in command is helping investors start multi-billion shillings businesses outside the country, and doing less in empowering the Kenyan youth.

“Kenya’s DP William Ruto claims, with a phone call, he helped a foreign investor get funding of KSh 15 billion from a Kenyan bank to set up investment and create jobs in Uganda.

“In Kenya, he is peddling wheelbarrows to our youth as a form of economic empowerment. Bottoms up indeed,” she wrote in a Tweet.

In a candid interview on Inooro TV, Ruto shed light on why he visited Uganda on July 5, 2021, where a vaccine laboratory was commissioned.

“ The investor of that company came to this office. He asked me how he can reach Equity bank. So I can get funding to set up a business in Uganda. I took my phone, called Equity Bank and asked them to help the man,

“After he successfully got KSh 15 Billion, he built the factory. Where is the mistake if he asks me to visit?” Ruto posed.

This, he said is the reason why he travelled to Uganda and launched the multibillion Vaccine Centre in July.

However, his second trip to Uganda that was supposed to be on Monday, August 2 failed to bear fruits after he was blocked at the Wilson International Airport.

After widespread concern, DP Ruto clarified that he was heading to Uganda for his personal business, and also to visit President Yoweri Museveni, who is his close friend.
