Anne Waiguru told she has undressed to jump into leaking swimming pool

Political analyst Herman Manyora has weighed in on Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru’s shift of allegiance to Deputy President William Ruto’s camp.

On Tuesday, October 26, Governor Anne Waiguru officially ditched the ruling Jubilee Party for United Democratic Alliance (UDA), a party heavily associated with William Ruto.

But Manyora has likened the governor’s joining UDA to undressing to dive into a leaking swimming pool.

He argues that by the time the county boss settles in the UDA party, the outfit will be purely a Kalenjin-only party.

“Governor Waiguru is undressing to dive into a leaking swimming pool. By the time she is settled in UDA, the party will be a Kalenjin party,” Manyora said in a tweet.

As the clocks ticks towards the 2022 General Election, Manyora opines that William Ruto’s party whose members claim is a National Party will likely lose a grip of the Mt Kenya region and remain a party with a strong presence in William Ruto’s stronghold.

Speaking during a meeting while being officially received at Ruto’s Karen home, Waiguru said her move to shift her allegiance to Deputy President William Ruto’s camp was meant to help her remain politically relevant.

“I asked for wisdom and I think I have listened. I have checked with members who are sitting here and I have even checked with people who are still on the other side,

“I have asked if it would amount to betrayal if I moved but the message I have been given is that in politics, you must be very careful to stay relevant,” Waiguru stated.

Her joining to Tanga Tanga wing has raised sharp reactions from political leaders as well as analysts.

According to Nakuru Governor Lee Nikyanjui, Waiguru has shifted her allegiance at the wrong time warning her that the move could likely end her political life if not well calculated.
