Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has criticized Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua for ditching ODM leader Raila Odinga for Deputy President William Ruto.
On Monday, May 9, the Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party leader announced that he had officially switched allegiance to the Kenya kwanza coalition.
But in a series of tweets on Wednesday, May 11, the ODM legislator fired salvos at leaders who have ditched the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga including Governor Alfred Mutua.
The Homa Bay Town MP revealed that Mutua approached the Azimio la Umoja-OK presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga to help him reconcile with his wife Lilian Ng’ang’a.
He said Raila tried his best to ensure that Mutua’s marriage stood but he failed, something that the second-term governor now claimed that Raila has not done enough.
“A musician Juliani elopes with his wife Lilian, and Mutua runs to Baba to get him back Lilian! Attempts by Baba to reconcile Mutua and Lilian fail, and Mutua says Baba has not done enough!” Kaluma said.
While exiting Azimio, Mutua accused Raila of unequal treatment of political parties in the formation, claims that the Homa Bay MP has since dismissed.
According to Kaluma Mutua approached the ODM leader seeking to help him stop corruption investigations that the governor was facing the requests that Raila declined.
“Governor Alfred Mutua best known for his “Cobra Squad” type promises to turn Machakos into Dubai, joins Baba to stop corruption investigations facing him, and Baba declines,” Kaluma added.
Governor Mutua and former Machakos first lady Lilian Nganga announced their separation on August 15, 2021after almost ten years in marriage.
The ODM MP further blasted ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetang’ula for ditching Raila who sacrificed a lot for them.
“Raila Odinga led campaigns to have Wetang’ula elected against Musikari Kombo in the by-election Wetang’ula was destined to lose! Baba then made Wetang’ula Senate Minority Leader, while he remained out in the cold after the 2013 and 2017 elections,
“The same is the case of Musalia Mudavadi Goldenberg who has been lifted out of political oblivion by Raila Odinga each time in return for nothing. He’s now with Ruto, who left Baba in 2008 for preferring Musalia and making him PM, instead of Ruto!” he said.
