Homa Bay Woman rep asks men to hide wives from Chinese men

It is not unusual in Kenya for some Chinese road construction workers to saw their distictive wild oats who are only noticed after a particular public construction has ended and the Chinese men have left.

It is perhaps for this reason that Homa Bay woman rep Gladys Wanga has advised married men in the county to be weary of Chinese men who could impregnate their wives.

Speaking at Adiedo trading center, Kanyaluo ward in Karachuonyo constituency, Wanga said that ladies will soon give birth to children with small eyes if men do not heed her warning.

“Give the Chinese everything but not your women. If you don’t take care, we will have children with small eyes. Just on a light note,” Wanga said.

Wanga, who has eyes trained on the Homa Bay county gubernatorial seat in the August 9 General Election, was speaking during the launch of the construction of the 18-KM Adiedo-Karabok Road which will be done by a Chinese contractor.

The Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition party politician requested locals to accord the Chinese contractor the necessary support needed to complete the road in the stipulated two years.

She warned that there would be numerous mixed-race babies of Chinese-African origin in the area with nobody to support them because the construction worlers would have left.

Since the Chinese were contracted to build road networks in the region, the foreigners have been accused of having sexual relations with local women.

The Chinese have further been faulted for siring babies with local ladies then disappear knowing well a Kenyan woman cannot tell two Chinese men apart.

Samuel Owida, an opinion leader in Homa Bay said the Chinese easily lure women workers into sexual encounters due to their deep pockets.

Owida said even though the foreigners cannot speak local languages, local women are easily targeted due to the tough economic crisis as the Chinese easily communicate with the vulnerable through cash.

“The consequences of such relationships have been proven in some parts of the country where the children are born with Chinese looks,” he said.
