How Kenya Kwanza plan to handle campaigns with Ruto, Mudavadi away

by Amos Khaemba

Kenya Kwanza foot soldiers have come to explain that the absence of Deputy President William Ruto and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi will not affect their campaign program.

While it was expected that Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula will technically lead the campaigns, Kivumbi.co.ke has established that William Ruto’s technical team shall be coordinating the campaigns.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, on Monday, February 28, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua said that the political rallies would go on as planned.

According to the Mathira MP, Kenya Kwanza had already split into different groups which will continue pushing the alliance’s agenda across the country.

“We will keep the fire burning. We have a group of very serious leaders who are respected across the country, and we are going to divide ourselves into two teams,” Gachagua said.

Speaking on the KTN News program dubbed Checkpoint, on Sunday, February 27, Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Boss Shollei said the absence of Ruto and Mudavadi did not dent the Kenya Kwanza campaign trail.

“There is a team that leads the presidential campaign that even the DP consults with. It is not a one-man show. Our operations continue as planned,” Shollei said.

Shollei added that the campaigns would go on as planned, noting that the rallies were organized by a committee that was still in place, hence no need for Wetang’ula to take charge.

Kimilili legislature Dismus Barasa also echoed sentiments by Gachagua and Shollei, saying Kenya Kwanza has a team that oversees the continuity of campaigns under whatever circumstance.

“The DP’s team will coordinate all these teams. His strategic team will still be in charge but we are out to ensure that we execute these meetings as planned,” Barasa said.

Deputy President William Ruto yesterday February 27, jetted out of the country for a 10-day tour of the US, the United Kingdom (UK), and Qatar.

According to a document seen by Kivumbi.co.ke, the DP Ruto and his entourage will be visiting the USA from Sunday 27, February to Saturday 5, March 2022 and then proceed to the United Kingdom from Saturday 5 to Tuesday 8, March, they will then head to Qatar from Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 March.
