Inside William Ruto presidential campaigns team

Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Movement (UDA) has finally made the list of the officials who will lead his presidential campaign ahead of the August 2022 General Election.

On Thursday 13, the Deputy President chaired United Democratic Alliance’s first-ever National Executive meeting at his Karen home where they deliberated on officials to lead his campaigns.

These are the officials who will also be in charge of the UDA affairs.

Omingo Magara was chosen as the new UDA treasurer taking over from Ednah Jebet, with Karisa Munyika taking over as the new National Secretary General from Antony Otieno Ombok.

Seth Panyako was also given the deputy Chairperson Programs and Nicholas Marete as the deputy chairperson strategy.

Kirwa Rono will be the deputy chairperson in charge of operations and Mohamed Sahal taking over as the deputy chairperson operations taking over from Ruth Ondicho.

Eliud Owalo, Former ANC strategist will be the new deputy secretary-general in charge of strategy as David Ole Sambu will be the deputy secretary-general for programs.

Lily Nyawira was replaced by Kanake Mugo as the deputy National Treasurer in charge of programs.

Rotich Kipkemoi was appointed as Deputy National Treasurer in charge of operations and Mary Emaase was appointed the National Treasurer, Policy and strategy.

Mohammed Ishmael was replaced by Jamhuri Warda as deputy national organizing secretary in charge of Operations.

Charles Wanjala will be the deputy national organizing secretary in charge of Strategy while Halima Omar will be in charge of Programs.

Edward Muriu will be in charge of the legal Affairs taking over from Melisa Ngania.

One of the UDA officials told the Standard Newspaper that the NEC meeting which was chaired by the Deputy President was to discuss the political future of UDA.

He also disclosed that it was for opening doors to set the election board.

“I can confirm that we held our inaugural NEC meeting yesterday under the leadership of the deputy president. This now opens the door for the setting up of the elections board,” said the source.
