Interior CS Fred Matiang’i dismisses William Ruto’s camp ‘kwendeni huko’

Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, has castigated Deputy President William Ruto’s camp for taking credit for Jubilee Government projects.

Speaking in Kisumu on Thursday, December 16, moments after being installed as a member of the Nyakach clan, Matiang’i categorically stated that all government projects were delivered by the Head of State.

The deputy president has been crisscrossing the country taking credit for the Jubilee government and at the same time distancing himself from failures of the government as he popularises his Bottom-Up economic model ahead of the 2022 elections.

But citing the Kisumu Port as an example, the ‘Super CS’ said that ODM leader Raila Odinga was the only political leader who played a critical role in helping the Head of State to implement development projects across the country.

“There can never be two centers of power and anyone else taking credit for Government projects or claiming to have influenced major infrastructure development is a hypocrite and engaging in political conmanship,

“It has become a norm for them (TangaTanga), they like taking credit for things done by the government. This one will even start claiming that he sires all your children,” Matiang’i said.

He further took a swipe at the Tanga Tanga political camp which has been calling him to restrain from engaging in politics saying he will openly support the President and his handshake partner Raila Odinga who is Ruto’s main challenger in the 2022 elections.

While drumming up support for the opposition chief, the Interior CS said he supports the March 2018 Handshake because of its evident benefits to the country and that he has no apologies to make to anyone.

“We are one and we have talked and agreed that Raila will be our leader. We will stand together as the people of Nyanza,

“Is there a problem when I say that? I have not asked for permission from anyone. Uhuru has given me the job. It is logical that I queue where the president is queuing since I am his CS,” he said.
